Drs. Matthew Koury and Andrea Appapillai from Mind Health Institute will go over common mental health conditions, signs/symptoms to look out for, and how parents can intervene. They will also review strategies for parents to support general well-being, and provide resources.

Dr. Appapillai Mind Health Institue
Dr. Appapillai is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist that provides individual behavioral and cognitive‑behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) to children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with both medical and general mental health issues including coping/adjustment, behavioral management, adherence with medical routines, and pain management. She has worked with several interdisciplinary teams in a variety of medical and clinical settings across the continuum of care. Dr. Appapillai offers an empathic and approaching demeanor which fosters a healing atmosphere for her clients.

Dr. Koury is the Founder and Director of the Mind Health Institute, Newport Beach. He is a Board certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist that seamlessly merges his impressive academic credentials with a warm and engaging demeanor. Dr. Koury is known for his thoughtful approach when it comes to using psychiatric medications and his decisions are always informed by current evidence-based standards. Dr. Koury is also committed to educating his clients and families about their treatment in order to assist them in making the best decision regarding their ongoing care.
